Agricola Marrone Langhe Arneis Tre Fie
Creamy full bodied Italian white made from the indigenous Arneis grape.
Agricola Marrone have been making wine in the Piedmont hills for generations and is now run by the families daughters hence the name 'Tre Fie' meaning three daughters in local Piedmont dialect.
Creamy and rich, packed with aromas of peach, liquorice and fennel, the palate gives you a nice hazelnut finish. Strong and complex yet surprisingly refreshing this wine would be perfect with a risotto or pan fried cod with a rich buttery sauce.
The Arneis grape originates from Piedmont, Italy and is generally grown in the hills Roero in the northwest. Arneis meaning little rascal in Italian is so called due to it being a difficult variety to grow. Wines made form this grape are typically dry, full bodied with aromas of pear and peach. This particular wine from Agricola Marrone has had 6-8 hours of skin contact and some times on the lees giving you a nice rich nutty taste on the palate.
