Beaujolais Nouveau 2024

What once began as a local celebration in the Beaujolais region of France to mark the end of harvest, with winemakers drinking the early release wine, has now become a globally recognised event. Laid down in French law, it's always the third Thursday in November, and since we didn't host an event last year, we'll be making up for it this year! 

For 2024 we have both the Beaujolais Nouveau and Beaujolais Villages Nouveau from Domaine Andre Colonge et Fils, crafted from vines that average 40-50 years old. 

It's no secret that this year has been a testing vintage for all of Beaujolais and Burgundy, right up to Chablis. Hail storms, rain and mildew in the early part of the year. However, fine weather followed in June, July and August and Landry Colonge says their vines are now in excellent condition! 

At this event we will be tasting both Nouveaus plus a selection of other Beaujolais wines. 

We make a seating plan for events that are held in The Wine Library. We have both high and low seating options, some more comfy than others, so please inform us if you have any special requirements. Likewise, do tell us if you wish to be sat with someone who has booked separately, we often just have to guess!  

Tickets to our tastings are non-refundable. If you can no longer attend, do get in touch as we often keep a cancellations list for those who missed out on tickets. If that’s not the case, we’ll always try and help re-sell them through social media (no guarantees). Alternatively, feel free to pass them to friends or family – we only need the name of the person who booked for entry on the night.
