Bodega Katxina Txakoli

A subtly effervescent white wine from the Basque Country. A great choice for anyone wanting to try something new.

Basque Country is a land of seas and mountains, but aside from its green countryside it is also recognized at an international level for its cuisine. The winery is in northern Spain, they are focused on keeping traditions, culture, and the Basque language (one of the oldest languages in Europe) alive.

The winery produces wines focused on the Hondarrabi Zuri variety, a local variety that only grows in the Basque Country under the protection of the Getariako Txakolina Designation of Origin. Their vineyards are influenced by the Cantabrian Sea, this helps to produce wines of the quality they strive for. Working with eight hectares of vineyard that face south, the grapes are caressed by the soft sea breeze which works with the climate and helps the grapes to achieve optimum ripeness.

It is a fresh and dynamic wine, best drank within the first year. Full of quality and varietal flavour. Zesty green apple and citrus notes, the wine is aromatic and has a full bouquet and a subtle effervescence. This is achieved by stopping fermentation early, while still dry in character it still shines with the quality and style of the region.
