Bodegas Staphyle Iris Malbec
Full flavour Malbec from Argentina. Balancing quality and affordability.
Bodega Staphyle was born of the Porretta’s family dream to produce their wines. This all started in 2002 when the family rebuilt their winery that had originally been built in the 1930s. Today this boutique winery marries that tradition with the latest in wine making technology to produce harmonious wines that offer a lot a value. The vineyards are in Ugarteche, Agrelo and Luján de Cuyo, known as the first wine region of Argentina.
Full of wonderful fruit character, dominated by cherries and blueberries, that is backed up by hints of violets and a peppery spice. The palate is rounded and juicy, with silky tannins and an almost dangerously drinkable edge. Showing all the characteristics that made Argentinian Malbec so popular.
This may be from a relatively small bodega in size, but it produces wines that are the envy of some of its larger competitors. Wines from this Mendoza producer offer some of the very best value to be had from this thriving wine-producing country. Bodegas Staphyle offers a wide range of wines and offers amazing quality for price. This Malbec is a prime example of how wines full of character and flavour can be made at an affordable price.
