Cantine Povero Batu Barbaresco
Powerful but elegant Nebbiolo from Barbaresco.
Batù means something both sacred and prophane, a good description for this ethereal wine. An elegant version of barbaresco, aged in oak tonneaux and barriques, preserving the original taste of nebbiolo grape, with a fantastic price/quality ratio making this precious wine approachable for everybody.
The winery has 35 hectares covered with vineyards, located in the heart of piedmont region, where langhe meets roero and monferrato. the family own also 16 hectares of vineyards in the terre alfieri zone. All the estates are under organic certification. The wine was fermented in stainless steel and underwent twenty-four months of oak aging.
An ethereal and mysteriously charming Barbaresco. Displaying a beautiful bright garnet colour. Aromatically, the bouquet is intense and spicy, evolving from dry rose, dried cherry, red fruit jam, and raspberry, to explosive notes of cinnamon, clove, allspice, and tobacco, with hints of vanilla and a whiff of cedar in the finish. The palate is vigorous, complex yet delicate, with beautiful balance, extremely well-integrated tannins, and supple edges.
Steeped in ideals and philosophy, Cantine Povero deals firstly with emotions, because they feel wine transmits awareness, culture and passion to the one who savours it. Each bottle is the result of a unique and unrepeatable story, where every sensory declination is experienced like a poetic stanza. The result of an expert oenological practice that enhances balance, immediacy, depth, and preciousness.
