Cantine Povero Dianae Barbera d'Asti

Poetic and elegant Barbera that flows from the glass and dances on the tongue

Cantine Povero deals firstly with emotions, because wine transmits awareness, culture, passion to the one who savours it. Each bottle is the result of a unique and unrepeatable story, where every sensory declination is experienced like a poetic stanza.

The colour is an intense garnet red with purple reflections. The nose is particularly winy and persistent. The absence of wood lets us capture the typical aromas of Barbera, such as, marasca cherries, prune, but also liquorice and spices. The palate is dry, warm, and full. Extremely food-friendly!

Starting in 1948 Cantine Povero planted their first vineyard. As a wine making family, they feel a strong emotional bond toward the land and pride to continue the traditions of their ancestors, whose roots date back to 1837. This ancient wisdom has been handed down the generations, to the new generation. They are proud that the 4th generation of their family is growing up among the vines, learning of the strong work ethic, the care for the generous lands, and a commitment to nature as we transform its fruits into wine which delight even the most demanding palates.
