Castro Ventosa El Castro de Valtuille Joven

Winemaker Raul Perez now makes and consults on wines across Spain, but he started here, at Castro Ventosa, his family's winery in Bierzo. The region is famed for its Mencia based wines, which can share a similar character to Pinot Noir, albeit tending towards slightly darker fruit flavours. This is remarkably fresh and fruity, with a graphite-esque minerality that balances this wine brilliantly.
