Couly Dutheil Chinon Les Gravieres
Sustainable Cabernet Franc from heart of Loire red wine making.
Ruby in colour, with a fresh and pleasant nose. Dominated by small red fruits. A fruity and supple palate, with nice tannins. An utterly charming light red wine
The winery has a focus on “sustainable farming", respectful of the environment with grass cover between the rows in order to limit yields. Leaf thinning, trellising and green harvesting to optimise the maturity and quality of the grapes.
Grown on alluvial terraces of sand and gravel, brought by the Vienne (tributary of the Loire). The region benefits from a temperate semi-oceanic climate conducive to the cultivation of vines. After destemming and a complete sorting of the harvest, the fermentation of the musts starts spontaneously thanks to the indigenous yeasts. The vatting lasts 10 to 15 days under constant control of the vinification temperatures. This process favours the fruity expression of the Cabernet Franc.
