Domaine Alexandre Chablis Vielles Vignes
An old vine Chablis that balances both full flavours and freshness.
Domaine Alexandre, located in the heart of Chablis, is a family run winery that has been passed down for three generations. Brothers Guy and Olivier run the estate today, which is set over 13 hectares of vineyards in the heart of Chablis. The vineyards are worked with great care and yields are kept low to produce expressive wines with concentrated fruit.
What makes Domaine Alexandre special is its working methods that respect the grapes. Pneumatic pressing, static settling (a process that aims to remove coarse particles), fermentation in enamelled steel tanks, all works together to make a pure expression of Chablis and its terroir. Their wines are bottled at the estate, under the strictest conditions in terms of hygiene related to the marketing of the wine.
Made with vines that are over 60 years old that had been planted when the family first started, this Chablis is made independently from the rest of the range. Clean, crisp and concentrated, this Chablis has generous notes of apple, lemon, lime and succulent melon. It makes an excellent complement to any white meat or seafood dish. However, it is wonderful to have on its own.
