Domaine Bott Geyl Gewurztraminer Les Elements
Extravagant and vibrant Gewurztraminer from Alsace. Full of fruit and hints of spice
Elegant and aromatic, full of perfumed aromas of rose petals and lychee, spices and honey. It has a rich texture, lightly off dry but with fine acidity and a little bit of grip for balance.
Jean-Christophe Bott has been responsible for Domaine Bott-Geyl since 1993. Under his watch, the vineyards were converted to organic status in 2000 and biodynamic in 2002. In the vines Jean-Christophe concentrates on low yields while in the cellar, wines are made using natural and minimalist techniques. Today the estate is made up of fifteen hectares including six hectares of Grands Crus and four hectares of Lieux-dits. Huge focus is placed on expressing the unique, natural qualities of the terroir.
Grapes are harvested from the top of the vineyard around Beblenheim before pressing. The must undergoes static settling and is then fermented using natural yeasts at temperatures of 18.5 -19°C. Then wine is stored in stainless steel tanks where it remains on its lees until the beginning of September. Neither the juice nor the wine has enzymes added, nor are they chaptalized or fined.
Intense spicy and exotic notes are expressed in this well-balanced, elegant wine. Drink as an aperitif or with black pudding, spicy food or Asian cuisine
