Domaine de Peras La Guerre de Bouchons Blanc

Expressive and refreshing white, a perfect aperitif wine

Finding quality entry level wine is always a challenge as often these wines are produced for the mass market and therefore consistency in the quality is very hard to achieve. Domaine du Peras an independent vigneron in Abeilhan, 15 kms north of Beziers. Not only does Mathieu Merlet, the owner and winemaker, like to focus on single grape varieties so that the consumer to know what is in the glass, but he goes as far as harvesting at nighttime in order to keep the freshness, and the fruitiness, in the wine.  This helps to avoid an oxidised touch or cooked fruit taste which can be found in so many wines of the region. Entry level at its very best.

Grapes are always harvested at night to maximise freshness and fruitiness. Vinified in stainless steel tanks using short skin maceration methods. The average age of the vines is between 5 and 10 years old ensuring a young, fresh but expressive fruit profile. Sustainable viticultural practices are employed throughout.

Bright and crisp. Expressive aromas of citrus fruit balanced with grassy notes. Great freshness in the palate.
