Domaine Henri Gouges Clos de La Fontaine
Pinot Perfection coming from a century old vineyard!
A Family Vineyard, wines from Nuits Saint Georges. For a century, generations take turn to defend and highlight the wines of Nuits Saint Georges. They were once named Henri Gouges, then Michel and Marcel, who were then replaced by Pierre and Christian, and now Grégory and Antoine.
Experts of the Pinot Noir, their estate utilises 14 hectares of vines, exclusively in Nuits St Georges. The fair, straight, intense, steady, and vertical wines that they provide are what made the reputation of their estate. their production volume is related to the climatic conditions, and the growing method focuses on quality and respect of the terroirs at the expense of the quantity.
The grapes that go into the Clos de la Fontaine Jacquinot come from a 1-hectare parcel, located on top of the hillside. It is a very old vine that doesn’t produce much, the yields amount to almost 20 hectolitres per hectare. Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges Clos de la Fontaine Jacquinots boasts a deep ruby colour with subtle aromas of dark fruits, earth, and spice, leading to a refined and complex palate. With its rich tannins and elegant acidity, this wine is the perfect accompaniment to wild game, grilled meats, and mature cheeses. Its extended aging potential makes it a collector's item and a perfect addition to any wine cellar.
