Domaine Long-Depaquit Chablis les lys
A Bright and elegant Premier Cru Chablis
Delicate nose featuring aromas of white flowers (Lys being the French word for lily) and citrus fruit. Elegant, chiselled palate with a slight iodine profile that is typical of the appellation. Long finish with a hint of tang that makes for a lovely, bright wine.
The "Les Lys" Premier is located on the left bank of the Serein River, overlooking the villages of Chablis and Milly. The plot is located mid-slope, at the heart of the appellation. Its atypical east-northeastern exposure plays an important role in the expression of this wine. This is a cool area where the grapes ripen gradually and slowly, yielding vivacious wines abounding with finesse.
Since 1350, the Bichot family has called Burgundy home. But it was in 1831 that Bernard Bichot founded a merchant house bearing his name in Monthélie, a couple of kilometres south of Beaune. At the end of the 19th century, his grandson Albert Bichot took the family business into a new direction and created the winery, Maison Albert Bichot as we know it. Since 1996, Albéric Bichot has represented the 6th generation managing the winery. The winery’s mission is to utilize the best fruit possible to create the best wine and best expression of terroir.
