Estampado Red
A beautifully brambly blend of some of Argentina’s best grape varieties
This wine marries the best of Mendoza’s widely planted cultivars. Grapes such as Bonarda, Cabernet and Malbec have long been favoured in the Barrancas region and have been well suited to the warm dry climate. Whilst Malbec stole the limelight, lots of these vineyards have become older and produce excellent fruit. These grapes are co fermented in stainless steel and then spend time in concrete where it’s tannin and acidity soften before the wines’ release.
With lifted aromatics and a bright, brambly palate this is a really appealing expression of a classic Mendozan blend. Bonarda is dark and juicy, freshened by the gently aromatic lift of Malbec. Both combining to make a deliciously vibrant wine
Bonarda and Malbec is a blend of two of Argentina's favorite red grape varieties. Malbec, the flagship variety of the South American country, usually provides the bulk of the blend, with the less-favored Bonarda offering herby, gamey characters to the wine. Bonarda and Malbec blends tend to be on the inexpensive, "country wine" end of the scale, but, as always, there are exceptions to the rule
