Frassinelli Prosecco Rose
The first official Prosecco DOC Rosé
Whilst pink fizz has been made in Italy for many years, it’s only very recently that there’s been an official Prosecco DOC Rosé classification, and Frasinelli was the first to be approved this status by the Consorzio Tutela del Prosecco in 2021.
This Pink Fizz is a Millesimato, which is the Italian term which indicates that the sparkling is a vintage sparkling wine. All the grapes used came from the same year.
Made from Glera, with the splash of colour coming from 10-15% Pinot Noir, it’s quite the charmer. Bright raspberry and redcurrant fruit flavours, with the more familiar pear and honeysuckle notes lurking beneath. A great aperitif.
Grown on soil characterized by the good presence of clay which, by retaining water longer, makes the soil less sensitive to dry summer periods, while gravels, which form the skeleton of the deeper layers, ensure optimal drainage. An appropriate endowment of microelements and organic matter gives the grapes excellent ripeness and ideal acidity.
