Georgiev/Milkov Pink Side of Rubin Rose
Complex, textured rosé.
Winemakers Petar Georgiev and Radostin Milikov are on a mission to show the qualities of Bulgaria's native varieties. This rosé is made from the Rubin variety, a cross between Syrah and Nebbiolo. That parentage tells you something about the weight and texture of the resulting wines, that weight carrying through even to a delicately made pink like this. The wine is aged in stainless steel and French Acacia barrels, which lend some additional texture without the brutal sweet and toasty impact of oak. Very impressive, and to be fair, pretty good value for such a complex, food-oriented rosé.
