Gorosti Flysch Txakolina

Classic Txakoli. Pour it from a height (if you dare) to accentuate its lightly spritzy nature.

Winemaker Juan Etxabe is a fourth generation Txakoli producer. In 2008 he planted his own vines of the native Hondarribi Zuri grape in an area better known as the ‘Basque Coast Geopark’ (between Bilbao and San Sebastian), releasing his first vintage in 2011.

The ‘Flysch’ cuvée gets its name from a geologic term for the unique rock formations of the Basque coast, formed under the sea 60 million years ago. These dramatic layers of rock are now part of the Geopark where Juan grows his vines, and they help to produce crisp wines with plenty of minerality.

Bottled with residual CO2 left over after fermentation, as is the traditional Getariako-style, this wine is effervescent with refreshing lime and citrus flavours. A salty sea spray note on the finish transports you to the Spanish seaside, and its lower alcohol percentage ensures you can drink this all day and/or all night, with or without food.
