Guiseppe Cortese Barbaresco

Rich and luxurious, Barbaresco at its best

A “classic” selection of Barbaresco D.O.C.G., grown in some parcels close to the winery. The nose has rose and red cherry, leather and an earthiness. The palate is rich with crisp acidity and great minerality. Flavours of red cherry, strawberry raspberry, dried rose petals, crushed herbs with a firm tannic finish. Aged for 18 months in Slavonian oak barrels ranging in size of 17 to 25 hectolitres and in age of 5/6 years minimum. Following this they are aged in bottle for a minimum of 6 months before being released for sale.

One to leave in a decanter to relax for a couple of hours if you're enjoying now. Or cellar for another 5-10 years.

Giuseppe Cortese has been making wines in Piedmonte since 1971, his sons and daughters now help in the winery and vineyards, and they even have a small B&B on site for visitors. Their flagship Barbaresco is a serious beast, and they have several different wines from around the region including Dolcetto D'Alba and the Langhe Nebbiolo.
