Hartenberg Chardonnay

Maybe we shouldn't have been surprised at how much we liked this Chardonnay, after all, we've stocked Hartenberg's Shiraz and Cabernet Shiraz for years. Fantastic quality for the price; toasty, oaty, creamy, but cut with fresh citrus fruit notes.

The vineyard is nestled in a valley on free draining, north-eastern slopes in Stellenbosch. The vines enjoy a mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers contrasted by cool wet winters. This allows for the fruit to fully ripen and display optimally ripe flavours.

Hartenberg take a regenerative approach to farming which looks at the farm as a whole. Their aim is to leave Hartenberg in a better condition than when they started.  In utilising biodynamics, they have a keen focus on soil health and increasing it through increasing organic matter in the soil and creating a closed carbon cycle.
