Jeanneret Cabernet Malbec
Deliciously dark fruited Aussie blend that’s very easy drinking despite its ABV.
Jeanneret was established in 1992 by the Jeanneret family who, with a passion for winemaking, began production purely for their own enjoyment. This organically expanded into a business and the Jeanneret cellar door was opened in October 1994.
With two vineyards located in the Armagh Valley of north-western Clare, Ben Jeanneret’s ethos is to produce generous wines that are full of flavour, to be enjoyed amongst friends. He has perfected that art and is now regarded as one of the leading winemakers of Clare Valley.
This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec is big and bold, yet its rich fruit flavours make it surprisingly approachable. There’s an abundance of blackberry, cassis and fleshy red berries, complemented by a spicy kick and a firm grip. The finish has a slight savouriness, making it a great wine to have with food. Jeanneret suggests a croque monsieur (a cheese toastie if you’re less posh) or roast beef or lamb.
