Kumeu River Estate Chardonnay
A classic of modern New Zealand winemaking.
The Brajkovich family's Kumeu River estate in Auckland at the very north of New Zealand's north island has grown considerably over the years, and now enjoys a fine reputation in an area that isn't normally renowned for its wines. The heat that naturally comes with being so much further north (in the southern hemisphere) is vastly tempered by the region's proximity to water on three sides, resulting in surprisingly lithe wines with bright acidity.
The Estate Chardonnay comes from six different vineyards, hand harvested to ensure top quality fruit. An absolute classic that will age gracefully, though it is already wonderful.
