Langham Culver Classic Cuvee

Creamy, fruity Pinot Noir led English Sparkling.

Langham's non-vintage Pinot Noir influenced sparkling wine, Culver, combines the brown bread flavours of 18 months bottle ageing with the lovely red fruit flavours of Pinot. Creamy, toasty and delicious.

A red fruit dominant cuvée with white peach and baked apple notes, this wine offers a round palate suited to all occasions. Pale golden colour with a fine stream of steady bubbles. White peach, strawberry leaf, English hedgerow, pecan and buttered toast on the nose. Palate shows lemon posset, shortbread, white strawberry, rhubarb and a hint of salinity. There is a long finish which leaves you wanting more.

All fruit for this wine was sourced from our single site in rural Dorset. The Crawthorne vineyard consists of 12 hectares planted to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and is located on a sheltered south facing slope.

Langham Wine Estate

Langham Wine Estate

The first incarnation of the Langham vineyard was originally established by John Langham as a hobby at Bingham’s Melcombe, a Grade I listed manor house at the heart of the estate. In 2009 John’s son, Justin, decided to develop his father’s idea into a commercial venture, and planted 30 acres of vines a few miles down the road at Crawthorne Farm.

With a south-facing aspect, chalk soils and a unique microclimate, Crawthorne Vineyard provides the perfect terroir for ripening the classic Champagne varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. All the grapes are handpicked, and rigorous vineyard selection ensures only the highest quality grapes arrive at the winery.

Langham pride themselves in crafting terroir-driven sparkling wines using grapes only grown in their Dorset vineyard. Taking a low-intervention approach to both grape growing and wine production, they constantly strive to minimise environmental impact and produce honest wines that reflect their terroir.  Without fining or filtration, all Langham wines are vegan friendly.

Celebrating English Wine

Celebrating English Wine

It’s no secret that English Sparkling Wines can stand up to – and often beat – the likes of Champagne. In fact, some of the big Champagne houses are now buying plots of land in the UK for their own vineyards, which is certainly saying something! English still wines are now also gaining a reputation for their high quality – and rightfully so – being full of energy and vibrant acidity.

We’ve spent a lot of time visiting vineyards and winemakers around the country, getting excited about the wines they’re producing. So much so, that our range of English and Welsh wines at Tivoli Wines has grown from a handful of bottles to well over 100.

Just because it’s English, that doesn’t mean we’ll add it to our range. We search for wines that demonstrate quality, uniqueness and value for money.
