Manucci Droandi Chianti Colli Aretini

Classic Chianti, smooth and delicious

A blend of native Chianti grapes, the selected grapes were destemmed and gently crushed and then vinified in medium-sized vats, with a prolonged maceration of 20 days, managed through pumping over interspersed with délestages. After racking and soft pressing of the pomace, malolactic fermentation occurs and subsequent maturation of 10 months in French oak barrels is utilised to help soften the wine. Finally, the wine is rested in bottle for 3 months

Smooth, silky and slightly smoky. The chianti shows a lovely balance of fruit flavours and hints of soft tobacco, violet and ceder. On the palate the wine is dry and there are very pronounced tannins. This makes it a great option to pair with heavier dishes or as a compliment with salami and other dried meats.

Mannucci Droandi originates from the agricultural and winemaking traditions of two families, the Mannucci, small landowners in Valdarno since the early nineteenth century and the Droandi, farmers in Carmignano and then in San Giustino Valdarno since the eighteenth century. It is currently managed by Società Agricola Nuova Agricoltura S.r.l., with Maria Grazia Mammuccini, who in turn comes from an ancient family of farmers.

Certified as Organic Farming since the early 2000s, this choice, together with the enhancement of native vines, constitutes the fundamental basis of their work. The goal is to contribute to the protection of the environment, to the mitigation of climate change and at the same time to offer products capable of representing the identity of the territory. They effortlessly combine local tradition with innovation, with the aim of continuing in the best possible way what previous generations have been able to build.
