Monte Santoccio Valpolicella Classico

A lighter Valpolicella that is beautifully deep and concentrated

A tiny producer from the hills of Valpolicella. Nicola Ferrari, formerly an assistant to Giuseppe Quintarelli (arguably the most esteemed valpolicella producer) now works alongside his wife to produce wines from their small organically farmed 3 hectares site. Whilst the production may be small, the wines are truly phenomenal.

Such elegance and lightness to this wine, but certainly not short on concentration either. Give it a good swirl and take another sip and you notice the depth and complexity on the palate following on from that oh so pretty and aromatic nose. An invitingly perfumed nose leads into a palate filled with bright red fruits, cherries, raspberries, strawberries, with the leaves attached. Followed by a savoury note of balsamic vinegar and green bell pepper. Delicious, full juicy wine.

Fantastic as a tipple but will come into its own with food! Enjoy it with risotto with asparagus, broad beans, pasta with light meat ragu, light meats such as chicken or rabbit with herbs. You can have this bottle open for 2 or 3 days – becoming deeper and even more delicious with opening.
