Once nicknamed the ‘Steve Jobs of wine’, Paul Hobbs is one of the best-known Californian consultant winemakers. He began making wine at Mondavi in the late 1970s and is now making his own wines from various corners of the world, most notably from his home in Sebastopol, California, and Mendoza, Argentina.
His vision has always been to craft single-vineyard wines that transmit the terroir of the most fascinating sites, and with meticulous vineyard management alongside minimal-intervention winemaking techniques, he achieves this and then some!
Hobbs is a driven perfectionist whose hard work has paid off with numerous 100 points scores from the critics. But don’t let us just tell you about his wines, come and taste them for yourselves!
We make a seating plan for events that are held in The Wine Library. We have both high and low seating options, some more comfy than others, so please inform us if you have any special requirements. Likewise, do tell us if you wish to be sat with someone who has booked separately, we often just have to guess!
Tickets to our tastings are non-refundable. If you can no longer attend, do get in touch as we often keep a cancellations list for those who missed out on tickets. If that’s not the case, we’ll always try and help re-sell them through social media (no guarantees). Alternatively, feel free to pass them to friends or family – we only need the name of the person who booked for entry on the night.
