Peter Pince Mezes Maly Harslevelu
Amazingly rich white wine from Hungary.
Péter's Hárslevelű comes from Tarcal – a single lot from the Mézes-mály Vineyard – considered a First Growth Tokaji plot. The wine is fermented in tank, then matured in a combination of new and used oak barrels, resulting in softly textured, yet mouthwatering example of Harslevelű overflowing with juicy flavours like crisp apple and ripe peach accompanied by delicate creaminess.
Hárslevelű is a richly flavoured grape variety from Hungary. It is best known for its supporting role in sweet Tokaji wines (where the better-known Furmint variety rules), but is sometimes made as a varietal wine, in both dry and sweet styles. Hárslevelű often displays honeyed, smoky characters and its name, which means "linden leaf" in Hungarian, refers to the linden-like aromas that the wine takes on as it ages.
Dry Harslevelu, creates a more herbaceous, full-bodied style of wine. This is a more modern approach to the grape, in contrast with its sweeter styles. The dry styles offer a unique and interesting White wine that is a great option to expand anyone’s palate. Peter Prince produces high quality styles that are amazing examples of wines from the region.
