Rioja + Co
As Spain’s most renowned wine region, Rioja has a firm place in all wine lists around the world. Join us at this event to discover more.
Located in north-eastern Spain, Rioja DOCa covers most of the autonomous region of La Rioja but also extends to neighbouring Basque Country, Navarra and Castilla Y León.
Rioja itself is squeezed in between the Demanda Mountains to the south and the Cantabrian Mountains to the north, while the Ebro river winds its way through the region. This sheltered position, protected from heavy ocean breezes, makes way for the production of great wine, particularly red.
Tempranillo is the flagship and most planted grape, but Rioja is also known for its refreshing rosés, age-worthy white wines and even some sparkling. If we venture outside of its borders, we then start to see other grape varieties and styles of wine being produced.
At this festival event, we’ll be tasting both traditional and modern Riojas – red, white and rosé - as well as other styles from neighbouring regions.
Our 'Festival' tastings are standing events that are approximately 2-2.5hrs long, so please bear this in mind upon booking. We do have a limited number of high stools available should you need a seat, but please let us know in advance if you require one. We also tend to show quite a few wines, so recommend eating beforehand.
We split you into two or three groups for the tasting, so if you have friends/family who have booked separately, please let us know that you'd like to be put together!
Tickets to our tastings are non-transferrable and non-refundable. If you can no longer attend, do get in touch as we often keep a cancellations list for those who missed out on tickets. If that’s not the case, we’ll always try and help re-sell them through social media (no guarantees). Alternatively, feel free to pass them to friends or family – we only need the name of the person who booked for entry on the night.
