Sandhi Central Coast Chardonnay
A blend of Chardonnay from some of the best older vineyards in California
Features golden apple fruits with touches of dark spice, dried chamomile, crushed almonds and beeswax. The palate is satiny and fresh with slowly expanding nutty flavors, and it finishes long and spicy. A rich and opulent Chardonnay that makes for a perfect wine to share with friends.
This introductory bottling replaced Sandhi's Santa Barbara County appellation Chardonnay a few years ago, with the intent to source only from old vine vineyards, like Bien Nacido and Talley, farmed without the use of herbicides and chemical fertilizers. The result is a wine that punches above its weight class with elegance and balance.
Sandhi is a small production California winery focusing on select vineyards from the Sta. Rita Hills in Santa Barbara County. The partnership of Raj and Sashi has continuously championed the unions essential to the production of wine: the collaboration between man, earth, and vine. The willing participation of all three elements is necessary to make great wine, and the winegrower must make this collaboration rich and nourishing for all involved. An understanding of these joint efforts informs Sandhi’s exploration of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines throughout the Santa Barbara County terroir.
