Vachnadziani Winery Saperavi

Aromatic native red from Georgia.

The Saperavi grape variety is one of the few red grape varieties known as a Teinturier grape.  This means that the grape produces a red juice, the name (Saperavi) itself meaning to 'give colour'. It has been bottled since 1886. The wine has a particular taste, well developed and aromatic bouquet. Saperavi is rich with dark pomegranate colour. So, this is a deep inky wine, full of tangy red fruit flavour.

Vachnadziani is one of the oldest wineries in the village Vachnadziani (Gurjaani Municipality) which was established in 1953. Total area of the winery is 7.03 hectare and it’s had the capacity to process 9 thousand tone grapes per year. Currently the winery is receiving and processing grapes and preparing wine samples as well as aging wine.

During a selective harvest, the best clusters are taken to the winery, where the selection process continues to only allow the best quality grapes. This facilitates the production of high-quality wine. Wines are made by application of the best Georgian winemaking traditions and in accordance with European standards.
