Sottano Seleccion Cabernet Sauvignon
Bold and complex Cabinet from Mendoza. A great choice for any lover of fuller bodied reds.
Deep and intense colour, with ruby hues. Coffee, cassis, cappuccino, snuff and several others are a part of the wine complexity in its aroma. With a big volume into the palate, there are soft and ripped tannins, achieving a perfect balance with the oak.
Fermentation occurred in stainless steel, which began with a five-day cold maceration. Maceration took place over thirty-one days in total. The wine has been aged in French and American oak for twelve months.
From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. The variety is now the key grape in many prestigious New World wine regions. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines usually demonstrate a handful of common character traits. The typical features include, a deep colour, high tannin content and moderate acidity with aromas of black currant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood. The wines tend to range from medium-bodied to full-bodied. The variety plays a supporting role to Malbec, though over 15,000 hectares (37,000 acres) are planted and many single-variety wines are made. It can be even more silky, spicy and richly flavoured than Chilean versions, and the best wines usually compare well to Bordeaux and Napa in terms of price to quality ratio.
Sottano Winery is in one of the most unique wine regions for growing high-end grapes in Mendoza. Thirty kilometres away from the City of Mendoza and on the way to Chile, Sottano Winery enjoys the magnificent Andes Mountain Range as its backdrop.
