Trentham Estate Chardonnay
Light and refreshing Aussie Chardonnay.
Murray Darling is the second largest region of the Big Rivers viticultural zone – and indeed the whole of Australia. It is responsible for up to one-quarter of all wine produced on the continent every year, depending on seasonal variations.
Light straw green in colour with notes of peach, nectarine and lemon on the nose leading to a slightly spicy palate from its partial time in oak. Although this wine has had some time in oak it certainly does not have an overpowering sense of vanilla, the fruit tones have been maintained beautifully and the acidity gives you a nice hit with a long, elegant finish. Even though vintages can occasionally see lower yields due to very hot summers, this still creates exceptionally ripe fruit and a superb concentration of flavours and aromas.
