Viano Cabernet Sauvignon
Full-bodied and rich with blackberry and blackcurrant fruit; hints of vanilla.
In 1920, the Viano family arrived in California from their native Piedmont and purchased a vineyard just outside the small town of Martinez, in what is now Contra Costa County AVA.
Fermented with natural yeasts and matured in old American oak barrels for a subtle effect. Made with fruit from dry-farmed vineyards with no chemical fertilisers or pesticides. A classic California Cabernet, but slightly more restrained than the typical Napa example. 8 months in a mixture of French and American oak have delivered a touch vanilla and toast alongside the blackcurrant, plum, and blackberry fruit.
Drink on release or cellar for up to four years. A lovely accompaniment to any roast or a big, bold bowl of pasta.
