Vina Zorzal Sea of Dreams Tinto
A dynamic Garnacha that packs a punch
A vibrant rendition of Spanish Garnacha. Full of flavour and has a noticeable spice that compliments the palate. Beautiful notes of cherry mixed in with clove and pepper are cradled by a refreshing acidity and supple tannins which make this red ridiculously delicious. The finish is long and pleasant maintaining hints of plum and spice.
This wine has come about as a collaborative project from respected Navarra producer Vina Zorzal and winemaker Ben Henshaw. The Grapes are sourced from high, rocky vineyards that benefits from northernly winds. This helps to give the wines an elegant freshness and adds a beautiful balance and structure to the palate.
Navarra is much less well known than neighbouring Rioja. But both produce rich, sumptuous Garnacha that have bold and beautiful character. Vina Zorzal started in 2007 and they mainly work with bush vines grown at high altitudes. With a focus on vineyard altitude and soil type they aim to produce wines with Burgundian-like quality. This attention to detail makes wines of superb texture and style. While they are not certified, vinal Zorzal do practice organic agriculture.
